Marie Serneholt, the 27 year old Swedish singer, stated to the local press that she hopes she will be able to take part in Melodifestivalen 2011, the popular local competition which decides Sweden's representative in the Eurovision Song Contest every year.

Marie Serneholt has tried once more to win the golden ticket to the Eurovision Song Contest in 2009 when she was invited by SVT as one of the four Melodifestivalen wildcards. Her song Disconnect me did not make it to the final, coming second last in the semi but still she states it was a great experience and she is keeping four fingers crossed to be able todo it again. Marie will be looking at songs and is not quite sure yet whether she will bid with a ballad or an uptempo song. She will be looking at already existing as well as custom made songs and hopes to find one that feels "just right" until the end of August.

Marie is currently cast in the leading role of the Swedish version of Grease together with Melodifestivalen 2007 finalist Sebastian Karlsson. Recently, she moved in with her boyfriend and two-time Melodifestivalen participant Mans Zelmerlöw (2007, 2009).

Thanks to Johnny Logan and Hold me now I fell in love with the Eurovision Song Contest, a love that's been going strong ever since with undiminished passion. My first memories date back to 1977 and the lyrics of Rock bottom, Dschinghis Khan and A ba ni bi are still engraved in my brain.

I joined esctoday.com in 2006 as a junior editor after being invited by Barry Viniker, I soon became Senior Editor and during the 2007 contest in Helsinki I was appointed Head of Communications. Today I hold the post of Head of Human Resources and I am proud to be working with the best editorial team in the world.
