The infamous Jimmy Jump, who ran onto stage during the performance of the Spanish entry in the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest in Oslo, strikes again: last night, just before the opening of the final match of the FIFA World Cup in South Africa!

Last night, minutes before the players of the Dutch and Spanish national teams went into the field, a special ceremony was held, in the Soccer City Stadium in South Africa – The FIFA World Cup trophy was handed back by the former World Champions, Italy. The trophy was then put on a stand (designed by Louis Vuitton). After the ceremony has ended, the trophy was left without any supervision, just for a few moments. Then, a person ran towards the trophy, trying to take hold of it. He only managed to touch the World Cup, but was taken down by security. This whole scene was not broadcasted by FIFA, but leaked later on.

Later on, it was revealed that the person, who tried to steal the trophy, was no other than Jimmy Jump, the serial intruder to large scale live events. His recent invasion was only a few weeks ago, during the live transmission of the Eurovision Song Contest's finalin Oslo. Jimmy Jump ran onto the stage, while the Spanish entry was being performed. The intruder managed to stay on stage for a good few seconds, until security took hold of him. Later on, the EBU decided to allow the Spanish entrant Daniel Diges to perform once again, after all 25 songs had been performed. This was the second time ever, a song was performed twice in Eurovision final, except for the winning song, of course…
