Ukraine: Jamala to perform in the national final

The 2016 Ukrainian Eurovision winner Jamala will be performing at tomorrow’s 2018 Ukrainian national final.

UA:PBC and STB have revealed that the 2016 Ukrainian Eurovision winner Jamala will be gracing the stage during the 2018 Ukranian national final. She will be performing her new song Krila during the show.

Jamala is also one of the judges on the 2018 Ukrainian national selection jury along with Eugene Filatov and Andreiy Danilko. They will play a key role in determining the 2018 Ukrainian Eurovision entry.

The 2018 Ukrainian Eurovision entry will be determined via 50/50 jury televoting deliberation.

The national final will be held in Kyiv and will be hosted by Serhiy Pritula. The show will be broadcast simultaneously on UA:PBC and STB.

Tomorrow show will see a total of six acts battling for the golden ticket to Lisbon:

Tayanna- Lelya

Melovin- Under the ladder

The Erised- Heroes

Kadnay- Beat of Universe

Laud- Waiting

Vilna– Vilna

Ukraine in Eurovision

Ukraine debuted in Eurovision in 2003 and has won the competition on two ocassions, namely in 2004 with Ruslana and in 2016 with Jamala.

The country is amongst the most successful countries in the contest and has never missed a Eurovision Grand Final since its debut, with the exception of 2015 when the country Ukraine withdrew from the contest. Ukraine has achieved a total of 9 Top 10 placings in its 14 year history in the event.
