The former Danish lead singer from the band A Friend in London, which represent the nation at the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest, Tim Schou has released his latest single’s music video, Altar!

In this new music video, Tim Schou unfolds as a body painter. Following its release, Schou spoke to Gaffa about the song and the music video:

Altar was really conceived and recorded in a Russian sauna, four German producers, a Canadian songwriter and myself had all gathered around a vodka bottle and talked about sex and religion…

I like to use these spontaneous experiences that seem trivial on the surface, but really add spice and depth/thoughts about existence.

This catchy and dance friendly electro-pop song was produced by Hitimpulse, a very successful German production team which have worked with big names such as Kygo, Ellie Goulding, Alma (Finnish), Felix Jaehn and Craig David.

Here is his new song’s video clip:

A little bit about Tim

Tim Schou himself is quite a hit-songwriter; the song and Melodifestivalen entry he wrote for Swedish artist Anton Hagman, Kiss you goodbye, received over 1.64 million streams in total on Spotify to date. His biggest Spotify hit, Supernova, has currently played 962,000 times.

In addition to this, Tim Schou and his record company, Iceberg Records, recently entered into a worldwide licensing agreement with BMG Recordings. By entering into this new venture, Schou is now working within a company alongside big names like Blondie, Billy Corgan, Morrissey and many more.

Tim lives in a self-chosen homeless state; he follows the couch surfing trend and ends up travelling and singing in more than 25 countries spending his nights in big city centers, in bars or even out to the open sky.

A Friend in London

After being a part of the group called A Friend in London for 9 years, Tim and his colleagues went their separate ways after calling it quits back in 2013; they split up for good in 2014.

Tim Schou has went on to have a strong solo musical career ever since.

Tim at Eurovision

Schou took part in Eurovision 2011 with his band A Friend in London after winning the 2011 edition of Dansk Melodi Grand Prix, the Danish national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest.

They managed to qualify from their semi-final and ended in a very respectable 5th place in the final of the competition.

Denmark at Eurovision

The Danes have been very successful since Eurovision 2010 securing a top 10 finish (except for 2012) up until 2014, even managing to win in 2013 with Emmelie De Forest and her song Only teardrops in Malmö. Here is her performance:
