Sweden’s Eric Saade, who represented the nation at the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest, will perform at the opening of the Vasaloppet 2018 Winter Games.

The Vasaloppet Winter Week begins on Friday 23 February at 19:30 CET, and includes the world’s longest ski race. The opening ceremony will include music, entertainment, food and drink. The opening ceremony is also free to attend!

Eric Saade is very excited to be performing live again; he has a tour planned for the Spring months, but is looking forward to this experience in the Winter.

I’ve had this chance a lot in recent years, and it keeps happening! That’s why it’s going to be fun to play live again – It won’t ever be boring!

Eric has also tried his hand at skiing, as his manager works with the Swedish national cross-country skiing team!

Saade at Eurovision

Eric Saade came onto the Eurovision scene in 2010 with the fun pop song Manboy, which finished third in Melodifestivalen.

The following year, he won Melodifestivalen with his smashing performance of the Eurodance hit Popular, and represented Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest 2011.

He finished in third place, but was only 3 points off winning the televote.
