Iceland: Greta Salóme unveils Síðustu jól featuring Sverrir Bergmann

Icelandic artist and two-time Eurovision participant Greta Salóme has released the Christmas single Síðustu jól, a duet with Sverrir Bergmann.

Singer and violinist Greta Salóme gets into the Christmas mood with her latest single Síðustu jól (Last Christmas), a duet with Icelandic singer Sverrir Bergmann, who you might recognize from his participation in the Icelandic selection for Eurovision 2014.

Síðustu jól is a song about two lovers who reminisce about Christmas of the past, finding each other again these holidays – perhaps only in their dreams, but still keeping each other warm during the cold days. A light in the darkness.

Síðustu jól is written and composed by Greta Salóme herself, video director is Emil Lei, and the creative design is by SVART:

About Greta Salóme

Greta Salóme Stefánsdóttir (Mosfellsbær, Iceland, 1986) is an Icelandic singer-songwriter and violinist in the Icelandic Symphony Orchestra. She partook in the Eurovision Song Contest twice.

In 2012, Greta Salóme represented her country together with singer Jónsi at the Eurovision Song Contest in Baku, Azerbaijan. With their entry Never forget they reached place 20 in the Grand Final, receiving 46 points.

In 2016, Greta Salóme represented Iceland as a solo-artist at the Eurovision Song Contest in Stockholm, Sweden. Performing her song Hear them calling in Semi-Final 1, she unfortunately did not go through to the Grand Final, placing 14th with 51 points.

A prolific artist, Greta Salóme is currently working on her second studio album.
