Danny Saucedo at Melodifestivalen

In 2011, five years after his participation in the Swedish edition of Idol and his music debut, Danny decided to partake in Melodifestivalen, the country’s national competition for selecting their Eurovision representative.

He took part with the song In the club, written by Danny himself, as well as Figge and Peter Boström. He qualified to the final evening of the show and eventually he came 2nd to Eric Saade‘s Popular.

Afterwards, he decided to make another attempt to represent his country next year. Therefore, he would participate in Melodifestivalen once again, this time with the entry Amazing by the same authors.

He again advanced to the final after his appearance in the 4th semi-final. However, he had same luck, as he finished 2nd to Loreen‘s Euphoria, which later enjoyed a record-breaking Eurovision victory.

The year after, in 2013, he co-hosted all shows of the popular event, together with the actress, singer and presenter Gina Dirawi.

Would you like to finally see Danny representing Sweden at Eurovision? Could he make them proud for the 7th time?
