Iceland: Eythor Ingi set for Icelandic Christmas tour

Iceland’s 2013 Eurovision representative, Eythor Ingi, is set to travel across the nation in the coming weeks for his upcoming festive Christmas tour.

Named Hátíðartónleikar Eyþórs Inga (Eythor Ingi’s festive concert), Eythor Ingi is set to travel across the island of Iceland over a total of 15 days, playing to audiences across the nation and spreading some festive cheer in the lead up to Christmas.

Eythor Ingi’s annual tour returns

Having performed his Christmas tour in previous years, Ingi has returned for this year’s set of concerts, this time alongside choirs from different towns within the nation in a number of venues, most of which include visits to numerous grand churches.

Starting at the Hafnarkirkja and ending at the Dalvíkurkirkja, Ingi’s Christmas tour will run from the 30 November right through to the 22 December. Check out the full set of tour dates from Ingi’s forthcoming concerts:

Ingi at Eurovision 2013

Back in 2013, Ingi was selected via the country’s national selection, Söngvakeppnin, to represent Iceland at the Eurovision Song Contest in the host city of Malmö, Sweden.

Competing with his entry Ég á líf, Iceland qualified from the second semi-final to the Grand Final of the competition, where the nation eventually received a total of 47 points, finishing in 17th position.

Ég á líf was the first fully Icelandic song to appear in the Eurovision Song Contest since the language rule change in the competition, the last of which previously appearing in 1997.
