Philip Vella, a famous European composer from Malta, will come to Riga to support Olexandr on the night of Eurovision as his personal friend.

“I am extremely honoured that Olexandr considers me as his personal friend. I will accept his invitation to form part of the Ukranian delegation and I am ready to help in any way I possibly can for his participation to be successful”, he said.

Philip Vella is considered to be an expert in the Eurovision Song Contest. In 1997 he was performing on the Eurovision stage as guitarist, yet his most recent Eurovision success was his song 7th wonder, which was performed by Ira Losco from Malta and came second at the 2002 contest in Tallinn.

In mid-February Philip Vella came to the Ukraine for a visit of a week's duration in order to meet with Olexandr and help him get ready for the Eurovision Song Contest. During his stay in Ukraine Philip was very much impressed by the expertise of Olexandr's musicians, as well as by Olexandr's vocal abilities and his persistence.

Besides helping Olexandr with the song, Philip was also acting in the capacity of an English language teacher by teaching the Ukrainian singer the correct pronunciation of the English lyrics of the song.
