The Cypriot broadcaster conducted today the draw for the running order of the country's final for the selection of the next Cypriot representative in the Eurovision Song Contest. CyBC also announced that the 2011 entrant will be selected through a televised talent show.

Although CyBC have not yet officially confirmed any of the performers of the 10 finalist songs, many names are confirmed by various media and the creators themselves.

This is the running order of the Cypriot final:
1. Angel– Konstantinos Christoforou
2. I 'm gonna be – Evagoras Evagorou
3. Life looks better in spring
4. Goodbye – Hovig Demirjian
5. Rhapsody
6. You gotta go – Anthie Pashi
7. Island of love– Konstantinos Kontozis
8. Play
9. Nothing is real
10. Like a woman- Nicole Paparistodemou

For 2011, Cyprus abandon their traditional selection format which, so far, comprised one final with ten competitors and opt for an entirely different method. A TV talent show will be starting soon on RIK. Performance will run for 15 weeks during 2010 and the winner of the singing category will earn the right to represent Cyprus in the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest. The broadcaster accepts applications by Cypriots or artists residing in Cyprus for the past two years until 8th January.

Thanks to Johnny Logan and Hold me now I fell in love with the Eurovision Song Contest, a love that's been going strong ever since with undiminished passion. My first memories date back to 1977 and the lyrics of Rock bottom, Dschinghis Khan and A ba ni bi are still engraved in my brain.

I joined esctoday.com in 2006 as a junior editor after being invited by Barry Viniker, I soon became Senior Editor and during the 2007 contest in Helsinki I was appointed Head of Communications. Today I hold the post of Head of Human Resources and I am proud to be working with the best editorial team in the world.
