Slavko placed in sixth position in day 1 of ESCToday’s Daily Press Poll 2017, having received a total of 16 points from across 35 press voters.

Norma John of #Finland had the best rehearsal today according to the Press Poll. Azerbaijan and Portugal were also among today's favourites. What do you think of the results?Yle Euroviisut

Slavko before his first rehearsal posted a photo on his Instagram profile with his make up/hair stylist and his director:

A gallery of his rehearsal photos has been uploaded by Andres Putting on eurovision.tv.

Slavko Kalezić also met with the organizers and press of the contest during the Meet & Greet process. About his feelings on stage, he stated:

I feel very good on the stage, as the stage for me is my home and I feel that it’s my life. I was told that I should be scared but first rehearsal felt nice and my work at theatre really helped me.

The Montenegrin hopeful will perform on stage with a very long braid on his head. When he was asked about the meaning behind the braid, he declared that it symbolizes power, finding  inspiration from within the Japanese culture.

In conclusion about all his performances to date, he made the following statement:

When I’m on the stage I adore to transmit transformations, but when I’m on the street I’m just like another normal guy.

Montenegro’s song seems to be one of the fan favourites but it’s gonna be a success or a huge failure. The performance is colourful and shiny with touches of silver and purple and Slavko knows how to get around stage.

However, the camera work doesn’t go along with the uptempo rhythm of the song and Slvako is probably poorly balanced with his backing singers which are heard way too loud. Improvement of those two in the upcoming rehearsals would probably ensure qualification.
