Norway : Two stamps released in honour of Jahn Teigen

Last September 27th, Jahn Teigen turned 60 years old and to celebrate the anniversary of such a big artist in his native Norway, the Norwegian Post services have released two stamps with pictures of the singer.

One of the stamps has a photograph of Teigen laughing and the other one is a drawing of the man, made by his own daughter, Sara Skorgan Teigen (her mother being Anita Skorgan), as Sara is a professional designer.Two special postcards with stamps on are also available, as well as a postmark showing Jahn Teigen jumping like he did during his Eurovision performance, back in1978, in Paris.Next November 30, EMI Music Norway AS will release a new album entitled “Teigen’s 40 Beste”.

Jahn Teigen has participated no less than three times in the Eurovision Song Contest for Norway, in 1978- when he was the first artist to receive nil points- in 1982 and the year after that when he finally managed to enter the Top 10 placing 9th with Do re mi. But that is not all, the 60 year old singer is a true Eurovision veteran as he hastried his luck fourteen times in total at the Melodi Grand Prix, the last one being in 2005.
