Latvia: Brainstorm gets 4 RAMP nominations

The Latvian band Brainstorm has been nominated in 4 categories at the forthcoming RAMP Awards to be held at the Olimpisky Stadium in Moscow, this year's Eurovision Song Contest venue. This ceremony will be held on the 29th of October. The RAMP Awards (Rock Alternative Music Prize) will be organised by Russian First Alternative Music TV channel A1.

Brainstorm represented Latvia at the 2000 Eurovision Song Contest in Stockholm with the song My star, thus achieving a 3rd place. The band is both popular and successful at home in Latvia as well as in the Baltics, having enjoyed international success. They enjoy both fame and name in Russia, where they tour frequently giving concerts and performing at various television shows.

The Latvian band is nominated in 4 categories at the forthcoming RAMP Awards: Song of the year (Volni), Album of the year (Shag), Video of the year (Volni) and Bandof the year. Brainstorm released their latest album Shag (Step)in 2009 with 13 tracks which included6 songs in Russian. Volni is one of the6 songs sung in Russian in the album,which has been nominated for Song of the year and Video of the year.
