UK: Jessica Garlick to star in the OGAE UK's EUROBASH party

The two people responsible for the UK highest placing in the Eurovision Song Contest for over 10 years have been confirmed as the first two guest for the OGAE UK annual party – Eurobash 2009. Jessica Garlick the UK's singer in the 2002 Eurovision Song Contest and Martyn Baylay the composer of Come Back who took the UK to an equal 3rd place in the contest.

The event will be held in Birmingham on 3 October and will feature Jessica and Martyn who will take part in a question and answer event that will provide an opportunity for the attendees to ask questions and hear about the their experiences at the contest. They will also spend time at the event to mingle with fans, with opportunities for more informal conversations and photos.

Paul Marks-Jones, OGAE UK President said: We're really looking forward to welcoming Jessica and Martyn to the Bash. Jessica and Martyn achieved the UK's highest position this decade with a great song, and I'm sure they'll have plenty to talk about and be a real hit with the crowd.

Jessica rose to prominence in the UK in 2001 when she appeared among the last ten contestants on the ITV talent show Pop Idol. The following year she achieved a landslide victory in A Song for Europe, the UK selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2002 At this contest a strong vocal performance resulted a joint third place finish for the UK in the contest. Having taken a break from the music industry, Jessica has recently made a return with release of her new song, Hard not to fall.
