During the past few weeks, the network of OGAE International has held its elections to choose their new International Coordinator. Two presidents and one board member of the international OGAE fanclubs were in the race during the elections, which take place every 2 years. The result ended up in a tie, which was never seen before.

The three candidates in the running to become the new International Coordinator were Antonios Karatzikos, current International Coordinator and head of OGAE Greece, Eric Lehmann, president of OGAE Luxemburg and Simon Benett, boardmember of the UK section. All international presidents were allowed to vote for their favourite candidate until July 2. The results ended up in a noteworthy third victory for Mr. Karatzikos from OGAE Greece. It appears both Karatzikos and Lehmann got 17 votes each, while Benett received only 2 votes.

However, due to an old rule, the eldest candidate gets the job. This rule implies that in case of a tie, victory goes straight to the elder candidate. Sources have told us that some of the international presidents have put question remarks behind this age rulebut the result is not in doubt as the rules were set before the contest.

esctoday.com would like to congratulate Antonios Karatzikos on his election and we wish him all the best during the next two years of coordinating the OGAE network and being the spokesperson among the international clubs.
