Marlain Angelides is a familiar name to Eurovision fans having represented Cyprus in the 1999 Eurovision Song Contest and having tried her luck a number of times to walk the Eurovision stage again taking part in the Cypriot pre selections. Now, Marlain has submitted material trying to enter the Heineken festival in Spain.

Fans of rock and Marlain can support the artist by voting for her in her effort to enter the Heineken Festival in Spain this June. This is a chance for unsigned artists with original material to play on stage with various rock bands from around the world.

Marlain has submitted two songs, a new one, Oh God call and Mr Uptight One night stand, the song with which she took part in the Cypriot pre selection for the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest.

You can vote for Marlain and help send her to Spain here. (free registration required). Voting ends this weekend.

Thanks to Johnny Logan and Hold me now I fell in love with the Eurovision Song Contest, a love that's been going strong ever since with undiminished passion. My first memories date back to 1977 and the lyrics of Rock bottom, Dschinghis Khan and A ba ni bi are still engraved in my brain.

I joined in 2006 as a junior editor after being invited by Barry Viniker, I soon became Senior Editor and during the 2007 contest in Helsinki I was appointed Head of Communications. Today I hold the post of Head of Human Resources and I am proud to be working with the best editorial team in the world.
