Turkish media are widely unhappy about the fourth place Turkey achieved in the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest yesterday. Most reactions state that a higher place or even a victory was expected for the song Düm tek tek performed by Hadise.

Hadise herself has stated that she is happy about her fourth place between successful singers like Jade Ewen and Patricia Kaas. She added that her target has always been to reach the top five, which she managed to do.

Turkey had finished second in first semi final with only two points behind Iceland. In the final, the country finished fourth but got the second highest amount of top marks behind winning country Norway.
