The 2016 Dutch Eurovision representative Douwe Bob has won a Gouden Notekraker (Golden Nutcracker) award, rewarding his musical achievements of the past season. A fine conclusion to the artist’s Eurovision participation.

The Gouden Notekraker (Golden Nutcracker) is an award by artists for their colleagues, annually awarded by Dutch musicians and actors affiliated to overarching legal organizations Sena and NORMA.

Douwe Bob, who represented the Netherlands at the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest in Stockholm, Sweden, won the prize for best musician, rewarding his musical career and achievements in the past season. His artistry and Eurovision participation were considered most special by his colleagues.

The award is a beautiful crowning piece for his Eurovision-adventure, and Douwe Bob received the award together with his band members Jan-Peter Hoekstra, Jeroen Overman and Matthijs van Duijvenbode, who accompanied him on stage in Stockholm.

The Dutch singer-songwriter is of course very honoured by this token of appreciation by his colleagues, as he expresses on Facebook:

What a magnificent prize! Thank you very much, musical Netherlands.

The award in the category acting went to actress Thekla Reuten. The Silver Nutcrackers, awarded to upcoming talent, went to Het Nationaal Jeugd Jazz Orkest 2015 and Matthijs van de Sande Bakhuyzen. All winners received their awards at the venue Paradiso in Amsterdam, Monday evening 19 September 2016.
