Eurovision 2017: Dnipro officially applies to host the contest

NTU, the Ukrainian national broadcaster has confirmed today that Dnipro is the second city to officially apply to host the forthcoming 2017 Eurovision Song Contest.

Preparations in Ukraine for Eurovision 2017 are in full swing as the country gears up to welcome to Eurovision bandwagon next year.

Dnipro thus joins Kyiv in the list of Ukrainian cities that have officially applied to host the 2017 ESC.

Dnipro is Ukraine’s 4th largest city with nearly a 1 millin inhabitants. The beautiful city lies on the Dnieper River and was former known as Dnipropetrovsk.

The 2017 Eurovision host city bidding race kicked off on 24 June and will conclude on 1 August, it will consist of 4 stages. Cities wishing to officially bid to host the 2017 ESC edition can officially apply until 8 July.

Bidding cities have to comply with the rules and regulations of the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest and the requirements to host the event.

The preliminary dates for the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest have been set on 9, 11 and 13 May.

Which will be next city to officially submit its bid to host the 2017 ESC? Lviv? Kherson? Odessa?….

    Well IF the Ukranians really want to NOT host the EuroVision again
    in the same city/place [KIEV] but to choose different new city 4 the hosting then fine.
    So this city DNIPRO with the 1,5 millions of population is a candidate city to win the #ESC2017.

    was Finalist in last year’s 2015 Europa League Final.
    (Coincidentally) the only year that UKRAINE was absent from EuroVision
    since their debut year 2003!
