Spanish broadcaster RTVE has announced moments ago that the 3rd semifinal and the national final of Eurovision 2009: El Retorno will be held jointly in a single show next Saturday 28th. The public corporation claims that, as the deadline to submit the materials to the EBU closes on March 14th, this way the chosen artist will have time to prepare the performance, choreography and preview video.

The final stage of this year's Spanish national selection for Eurovision was initially scheduled for March 7th. Now, TVE have decided to move the date to February 28th.

Next Saturday's show will be split into two parts: one, the third semifinal, where the remaining 10 acts will compete for a place in the final, which will be held right after. This is the line-up for the third semifinal:

  • Santa Fe – Samba House
  • El secreto de Álex – Por esta vez
  • Julia Bermejo – Ya no estás
  • Biquini – Una chica normal
  • Solydo –
  • Mirela – Nada es comparable a ti
  • Beatriz – ¿Dónde te metes?
  • Dulce – Bésame
  • Isi – Ahora no
  • Remembrances- Espejismo

The second chance round will be held on Saturday as well. Two acts are already chosen to compete: Gran Baobab with Despedida de soltero and Salva Ortega with Lujuria. The fourth placed artist to compete at the third semifinal will join them and only one of them will get the chance to proceed to the final.

The Spanish representative will be chosen by jury vote and public televote, at a 50/50 split.
