The 2008 Eurovision Song Contest host Jovana JankoviÄ has been confirmed as the host of the 2009 Serbian Eurovision Selection Contest – Beovizija to be held March 7th and 8th.

She will be accompanied by Serbia’s most popular actress Sloboda MiÄaloviÄ-ÄetkoviÄ and Serbia’s most popular young actor Ivan BosljiÄiÄ.

Due to Jovana’s popularity, currently the RTS “Morning Programme” co-host, she will once again be back on the Eurovision scene. Sloboda and Ivan will most likely accompany Jovana although they have not yet given their assurance due to the fact that they have a lot of commitments at the theatre.

Ivan BosiljÄiÄ is most popular for his performances at the Theatre on Terazije in Belgrade (the equivalent to New York’s Broadway). Both Ivan and Sloboda recently starred in the television show “Ranjeni Orao” which in January 2009 became the most watched television programme in Serbian broadcasting history beating the previously held record – the final of the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest.

RTS will air Beovizija and will stream the contest live on their website. Those in Bosnia and Herzegovina will be able to watch Beovizija on the RTRS channel while RTS SAT will also air Beovizija live throughout Europe.

From Monday next, February 23rd the “Morning Programme” on RTS will air daily all the songs that will compete at Beovizija (in full). Until recently viewers have had the chance to hear only 30 seconds of the songs.
