The run for the Eurovision ticket has already started in Ireland, as the four entries which were about to compete in the national final of You're a Star were performed for the first time last night. Ronan Keating is one of the composers. Somewhat surprisingly, all the four songs are traditional ballads, although one has some pop elements in it. One of the songs, I'll still be right here, and her performer, Lisa Bresnan, has already been voted away from the competition. This leaves the Irish televiewers with three boys.
Good news, Ronan Keating's song is still alive in the competition. His song, Couldn't love you more, written for Michael Leonard, was co-written with two other composers. We've got the World tonight is a mid-tempo pop song, the rest are pure ballads. These are the song titles listed after how many votes they received last night…
1st: We've got the World tonight
Written by Martin Brannigan
2nd: A better Plan
Written by Brian McFadden
3rd: Couldn't love you more
Written by Ronan Keating / Brian Kennedy / Callum McColl
4th: I'll still be right here (OUT!)
Written by Louise Wallace
The show which will decide the outcome of the Irish national final of 2003 will be held in the Helix Theatre (pictured) in Dublin on March 8.
