A nine-member jury has been appointed by TRM today to select the 20 songs to compete in the Moldovan national final. All songs submitted can be listened to and rated online on the broadcaster's official site.

Out of the total number of 38 applications submitted to TRM, the 20 finalists were selected for thegrand final, which will take place in 45 days. Among the finalists we also meet some well known namesincluding Natalia Gordienko (Eurovision Song Contest2006), Alexa (national final2008), Elena Buga(lyricistof Fight in 2007) andOlia Tira (national final2008).

In 2008, Moldova was represented by Geta Burlacu, who finished 11th in the first semi final with her song Century of love and hence did not make it to the final.
