Croatia: Dora 2009 invited composers

Some well known names in the Croatian musical scene are bidding to represent Croatia in next year's Eurovision Song Contest. Goran Karan who represented Croatia back in 2000 and Fenimem the Bosnian 2005 Eurovision representatives are among some of the famous acts that have submitted a song to the Croatian broadcaster HRT in order to compete at Dora. This year's Croatian representatives Kraljevi Ulice are back will be trying their luck again.

The call for songs for the 2009 Croatian preselection for the Eurovision Song Contest was over on 12 December. Aleksandar Kostadinov, head of the Croatian delegation as well as many artists and composers were contacted by local media andmany names are reported as potential participants, pending confirmation.So far only the names of the invited composers have been confirmed whose songs will compete directly in the Dora final:

Zrinko Tutic Zlatna rijeka (Gold river) by Danijela PintariÄ? (Dora 2007 and 2008)
Rajko Dujmi
Tonci Huljic – It is possible that his song will be performed by Igor Cukrov from talent show Operacija trijumf
Nenad Nincevic – Possible performers Zorica Kondža or Ana BebiÄ? (from Operacija trijumf)
Miroslav Škoro
BorisDjurdjevic (with Miro Buljan) – Franka BateliÄ? (winner of OGAE SC 2008)
Miroslav Rus – Band Rusway
Ante PecotiÄ?

Aleksandar Kostadinov also confirmed that Antonija Šola (with Selice), Karma, Feminem, Goran Karan, Ivan Gamulin Gianni, Tina Vukov, Nikita, Vjekoslava Bach, Sandra BagariÄ?, Ivanka Boljkovac, Denis&Denis, Kraljevi Ulice, now called Ä?ager Zoc i Papak Dance Kompany, and many others submitted songs to HRT.

Fourteenacts will be competingin the DORA semi final in Opatija. Six of them, who will be selected by televoting will proceed to the final where they will be joined bythe tenacts submitted by the authors invited by the broadcaster. The winner of Dora 2009 will be selected by a mixture of jury vote and televote at a 50-50 split.
