Malta: Kevin Borg wins Swedish Idol 2008

Earlier esctoday.com announced that Kevin Borg, a former participant in Malta Song For Europe, was favourite to make the final and win Swedish Idol. Last Night it was announced that he was the winner of the 2008 version of Idol.

Kevin was head to head against Alice Svensson in the final who had previously been in the bottom three and the bottom two, Kevin on the other hand had never been in the bottom 2 or 3.

Kevin won the final which was held in the Globe Arena, Stockholm, which was the venue of the 2000 Eurovision Song Contest, when it was held in Sweden. The winners song of Idol 2008 is With every bit of me, which will be released by Kevin in hope of reaching the top spot.

Borg attempted to represent his home nation, Malta on two occasions, in 2006 with You're My Dream and ended in 8th place and 2007 with Whenever and ended in 4th place.
