Sonia, the Eurovision Song Contest runner-up in 1993 when she represented the United Kingdom, will be launching a new single in January 2009. The track is called Fool For Love and is penned by Tony Power.

The single will be released by Energise Records and will also feature on a compliation album featuring several stars from the 1980s and 1990s. Earlier this year, Sonia delighted the crowd at the UKeurovision Winners' Party, performing alongside fellow UK representative Nicki French and former winners, Bucks Fizz before Dima Bilan and Ani Lorak wowed the London crowd.

Sonia had a string of hits in the early 1990s with legendary pop writers Stock, Aitken and Waterman, including You'll never stop me loving you, Counting every minute, and Only fools never fall in love.

Sonia's United Kingdom entry lost to Ireland on the final round of voting, sitting just 11 points behind the eventual winners. Neither entry scored 1-10 points, meaning that if either claimed the 'douze points', they would win the competition. On the final vote of the night, Ireland secured the marks to win by just 23 points in a very tight race for victory.
