The Serbian broadcaster, host of the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest, will be launching the quest for the successor of winner Marija Serifovic and top ten finalist Jelena Tomasevic in ten days time.

RTS will soon be releasing the details of the 2009 Beovizija, the selection of the Serbian candidate in the Eurovision Song Contest. The same as in past years there will be an open call for songs which will be launched in ten days.

In 2008, Beovizija included one semi final and the final held on consecutive days on 9 and 10 March. Twenty songs competed in the semi final and half of them qualified to the final which was won by Jelena Tomasevic with Oro.
