The Scotts make Swedish Eurovision bid

The Scotts have been named as the tenth act to be confirmed for Melodifestivalen 2009, as they bid to represent Sweden at the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest in Moscow. They will be performing the song Jag tror på oss, a song that had been unanimously tipped in local media as Linda Bengtzing's fourth Melodifestivalen entry.

The announcement that The Scotts, a popular Swedish danceband, was made during the current reality show Dansbandkampen this weekend. They will perform the song Jag tror på oss, selected as one of the jury's 28 songs in October.The song is written by Lars Diedricson and Pling Forsman.

The Scotts are fast becoming one of the leading dancebands in Sweden, a genre similar to uptempo country, and close to traditional Swedish Schlager. They are competing in Dancebandkampen and are favourites to win. They as surprised as the audience when Melodifestivalen competition producer, Christer Björkman came onstage during this weekend's heat and invited the band to perform the song live in the show.
