France: David supporting possible Eurovision candidates

Musicians living close to Toulouse (south-east of France) have produced a song which will compete to represent France at Eurovision next year. Sois (Be) is performed by a female trio named Caprice (“Whim”) and has received a big support from Anne-Marie David, winner of Eurovision for Luxembourg in 1973 and French entrant in 1979.

The song is written by Nathalie Parisot and composed by Michel Dangain, who organised a casting to find the right performers. The aim is "to go back to songs that have made France win the contest or place high", the team's website writes. The song was arranged by Raymond Gimenes, who has worked for various big names in France. The website also tells that the 44 string instruments of the Grand Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse took part in the recording. English and Spanish versions are said to be already done.

Apart of the songwas- but is no longer -presented on franceeurovision2009.com and people who want to support it were invited to send a mail or fill in a form.Last Summer, there were already reports about two possible Eurovision Song Contest candidacies (one by Cindy Sander, the other one by Mourad). Application will obviously be sent to France Televisions.

Shortly, there will be an interview withBruno Berberes, French Head of delegation, who will reveal exclusive information about the 2009 selection.
