Andorran broadcaster RTVA have finally decided that the country will take part in the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest 2009, to be held in Moscow. A selection process consisting of three semifinals and a final may be the system chosen by RTVA to select Andorra's sixth entrant to the Eurovision Song Contest.

Earlier this month, Andorran public broadcaster RTVA held a press conference to present their new season programme schedule and RTVA officials announced that Andorra will participate at the forthcoming Eurovision Song Contest, to be held in Moscow, Russia.

This time, it will be the broadcaster itself who will be in charge of the Eurovision 2009 project. A new formula was tested for the 2008 contest, when a deal with a private musical company was sealed, which created high expectation but did not manage to bring a good result to Andorra.

For the entry selection, a selection procedure has been proposed. The Andorran singer and song would be selected from a national final consisting of three semifinals and a grand final. A mixture of jury vote and televote would be used.

More details from Andorran broadcaster are expected to follow. Stay tuned to esctoday.com.
