Grand Final

During the final, the televoters were responsible for only 50% of the votes, as the other 50% came from the votes of 10 juries, each awarding 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 points to its favourites, for a total of 430 points. Then, the televote results were also converted from percents to points, out of 430 points:

The juries and the televoters agreed on most of the placings in the final – except for the first one – while Sandhja won the jury votes, getting five sets of 12 and two sets of 10, she came only third among the televoting, while Saara Aalto won the televoting and finished third among the juries with only two sets of 12 and three sets of 10, and a total of an insufficient amount of votes to catch Sandhja and win the competition.

Winning Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu 2016, Sandhja will represent Finland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 with the song Sing it away.
