Romania: 90 entries submitted for Selecția Națională 2016

The Romanian national broadcaster, TVR has confirmed that around a total of 90 entries have been submitted for the country’s upcoming national selection, Selecția Națională 2016.

Over the coming days, each of the 90 submitted entries will be played to the special jury who will then shortlist the 12 acts which will compete in the live shows of Selecția Națională 2016.

The entries will be ranked by the jury panel based on a number of factors, some of which include song structure, originality and sound/voice quality. The 12 competing entries will be announced during a special press conference on the 11 February.

Selecția Națională 2016 will be hosted at the Sala Polivalentă in Baia Mare over the course of 2 shows; the semi-final on the 4 March and the final on the 6 March.

The 12 bidding acts will each compete in the semi-final of the selection, but only 6 will qualify to the final of the event; 4 qualifiers will be decided via a jury whilst a further 2 will be selected via televote. In the final, the winner will be decided 100% via televote.
