This article will constantly be updated.
The show opens with the two hosts, Sir Terry Wogan and Claudia Winkleman. The hosts give us information on last years UK entry which ''Crashed and Burned, in Helsinki''
Expert Jury: Sir Terry Wogan, John Barrowman and former Eurovision contestant (UK 1983) Carrie Grant.
Category One: GirlGroups, LoveShy Vs. The Revelations
Song 1: LoveShy – Mr Gorgeous
The girls are on stage, one in a yellow dress and one in a pink dress. Two males wrapped in Ribbon on chairs. The girls unwrap the boys whilst singing. near the end of the songs the boys shirts were ripped off. The vocals are not great from the girls. The overall performance is good, it is just the vocals which let them down.
Song 2: The Revelations – Its You
Girls are on stage with a band playing instruments, the girls wear dresses, one black, one red and one blue. nice, small dance moves from the girls, really good vocals from the trio. Nice happy song, 60's sounding. Very good overall performance.
Judges are being asked who they want to go to the next round:
John: The Revelations
Carrie: The Revelations
Terry Wogan: will not say who he would have chosen, and may do later
The Revelations are through to Round 2!
Category Number 2: Joseph Vs. Maria
Song 1: Rob McVeigh – I Owe It all to you
Rob takes the stage, in a black suit. He gives the song power, but in the wrong places in the early part of the song. Good Vocals. nice performance, could benifit from some work if he wins, but could be a good choice. for some reason Gary O'Shaugnessy comes to mind. Overall, its a good performance and could be a good choice.
Song 2: Simona Armstrong – Changes
Simona is on stage wearing something that NonStop wore in 2006, although still looks good. Vocals are good, sounds more like a country / rock / pop song live. Strong Romanian accent pokes through in some parts. Good overall performance, is it a eurovision song?
Judges give their opinions as to who should make the second round:
John: Simona
Carrie: Simona
Terry: would have agreed with the others, Simona to the next round.
Category 3: Solo – Andy Abraham Vs. Michelle Gayle
Song 1: Andy Abraham – Even If
Andy wears a silver/gray/green silk shirt. with a band behind him. I can't help but think of a dad at a disco. although, almost faultless vocals. with a wig this would be quite like Belgium 2007. Not a bad overall performance. once again, is this a eurovision song?
Song 2: Michelle Gayle – Woo (you got me)
Michelle takes the stage in, what only can be desribed as a bra with a grass skirt attatched to it. A lot or arm waving with chicken impressions as dance moves. Vocals cannot be faulted. Very energetic performance. good performance overall.
Now the judges decide who makes round 2:
John: Michelle
Carrie: Michelle
Terry Wogan: would have agreed with the others.
Up to now the three acts to the final are:
The Revelations – Its You
Simona Armstrong – Changes
Michelle Gayle – Woo (You Got Me)
Terry now will announce his 'wildcard'. The fourth act which will go to the second round is:
Andy Abraham – Even If
We're back – the results show!
First they show a recap of the 4 songs which passed to the second round.
The 2 songs qualified for the 'super final' are:
Andy Abraham 'Even If'
and
Michelle Gayle 'Woo'
The both acts will perform again, Andy is first up…
Andy gives a less passionate performance and once again gives a great vocal performance. better vocal performance than earlier, exactly the same performance as earlier except a few vocal differences. could this do well at eurovsion? Europe will decide…
Now its Michelle Gayle…
Michelle now performes, you can see her give 110% within seconds. the whole thing somehow reminds me of Javines performance a few years ago with the moves. Favourite to come last with the bookies has made the super final. once again, same performance as before, and once again, brilliant!
Phone lines now open for 10 minutes only…
now we go to the televote once again, Either Andy Abraham or Michelle Gayle will try for the UK's 6th win in eurovision.
We now have a clip of some of the. already chosen songs, Estonia, Now Malta, then Denmark, Followed By croatia, Bulgaria now, then Slovenian star Rebeka, Now Mt Dustin from Ireland, Terry makes a forceful comment ''who will the Eastern Bloc Vote For''? which in recent years, is what we should have been thinging when deciding out entry.
Clips of past UK winners are shown now, which merges into Terry Wogan announcing the last UK Eurovision Winner 'Katrina and the Waves – Love Shine a Light.'
Phone lines are closed and results coming up…
The Jury think that Michelle should win. but will the rest of the UK agree?
But the winner of the televote is…. The winner of the United Kingdom's National Final is 'Andy Abraham – Even If'
Andy Abraham with the song "Even If" will represent the United Kingdom in the final of the 53rd Eurovision song Contest on May 24th 2008 in Belgrade, Serbia.
