Italian artist and winner of the 2010 Sanremo Music Festival Valerio Scanu has performed Conchita Wurst’s 2014 winning Eurovision Song Contest song Rise like a phoenix on the Italian show Tale e quale.

Conchita Wurst won the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest in Copenhagen, Denmark, with the ballad Rise like a phoenix, but Thomas Neuwirth‘s drag-persona is of course also known for her striking appearance.

A week ago, Italian singer Valerio Scanu covered Conchita Wurst’s performance of Rise like a phoenix in the show Tale e quale (on Rai 1), right down to the dress and beard. Valerio Scanu eventually won the ninth episode of the show with his interpretation of Rise like a phoenix.
