The Finnish representatives at the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest, Softengine, have unveiled the audio of their latest single, Big fat bass drums.

Big fat bass drums is the second single to be released by the Finnish group Softengine this year following the release of All about you & I back in June.

Announcing the release of Big fat bass drums via their Facebook page, Softengine described the inspiration behind the song;

The song was born when Topi was driving home after a really long and exhausting day and was hoping that he would hear even one song from the car radio which would fit the moments mood.

Softengine were selected via the Finnish national selection Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu (UMK) to represent their country at the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest in the host city of Copenhagen, Denmark. With their entry Something better, Softengine qualified from the second semi-final and finished in 11th position at the Grand Final, receiving a total of 72 points.

Earlier this year, the Finnish national broadcaster YLE confirmed Finland’s participation at the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest, revealing that UMK would be the method used in order to select the country’s representative. The UMK 2016 participants are expected to be revealed later this month.
