By singing the Bob Dylan song I'll be your Baby, the 29 years old Mickey Harte won the seventh quarter final of the Irish preselection You're a Star. This way, Mickey doubled the number of male finalists from one till two.
Mickey Harte won the show with 23% of the votes, three per cent more than the runner up, Justin McGurg. Mickey has worked as a full-time singer for many years, mostly in Irish pubs, and has been an active composer as well.
The six other Irish finalists this far are the following: Susan McGowan, the McElhinney twins, Sarah Brophy, Catherine Yore, Michael Leonard and Azi Jegbefume.
