After three semi finals and a last chance round, the final of the Melodi Grand Prix 2008 will be held. The winner will become Norway's 47th representative in the Eurovision Song Contest in Belgrade.

The show

The show will start at 19:55 CET and is to be held at the Spektrum in Oslo. Eight songs will be presented and the winner will be chosen in two rounds of televoting with the first round selecting the top four. THe interval act will be performed by Jahn Teigen, who represented Norway three times in the Eurovision Song Contest. In 1978 he finished last getting zero points for Mil etter mil, in 1982 he performed the duet Adieu with Anita Skorgan and came 12th while the year after he took part solo again and finished 9th with Do re mi.

In 2007, Norway was represented by Guri Schanke who finished 18th in the semi final with Ven a bailar conmigo. Itwas the first time that Norwayisdid not takepart in the final of the Eurovision Song Contest since the semi final was introduced in 2004.In 2008, the Norwegian entry will be presented in the first semi final of the Eurovision Song Contest on 20th May.
