Anna Sahlene, the Swedish artist that represented Estonia at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2002 and twice participated in Melodifestivalen, has been withdrawn from the Romanian selection process due to television commitments in Sweden. The song, Dr. Frankenstein will now be performed as a solo by LaGaylia.

esctoday.com broke the news that the singer who finished joint 3rd in Riga with Runaway would participate in the Romanian preselection with Lagaylia. Anna Sahlene was due to duet with her on the song Dr. Frankensteinat Romania's national selection process, however the dates clashed with television commitments that had already been organised in Sweden. Whilst able to participate in the semi final, she would not be able to reneg on her contract and could thus not participate in the final.

Dr. Frankenstein topped the jury vote in the Romanian preselection and is currently the favourite amongst fans to win the Romanian ticket to the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest according to online voting.

It has been decided that LaGaylia will front the song alone rather than have Anna for the semi final and then as a solo in the final should the song qualify. A spokesman for Anna Sahlene told esctoday.com "She is disappointed, but she cannot cancel her commitments, the television company will not allow it, she was looking forward to participating, but the dates clash".
