Last Monday, January 21st, Denise Fabre officially announced that she will be part of the list directed by Christian Estrosi, one of this year's challengers for the local elections in Nice, on the French Riviera. Denise Fabre was the French commentator for the 1978 Eurovision Song Contest.

Born in Nice in 1942, Denise Fabre began her career on TMC in the mid-60's, then worked on the second public channel and on TF1. That's how she was asked to be the female part of the duet presenting the 1978 Eurovision Song Contest. At that time, she was one of the most succesfull female TV speakers in France, mostly famous for her professionalism, her charm… but also for her ucontrollable laughter during live transmission ! Some call it “cult” !You can watch one of Denise's notorious outbursts here.

Denise Fabre and Léon Zitrone (who died in 1995) were the first pair to host a contest, a formula which was also chosen the year after in Israel and which has become a tradition since the late 80's.Since the mid-90's, Denise nearly stopped working on TV but is still invited in talk shows.
