When the deadline for submitting entries to the Greek national final expired yesterday, the broadcaster ERT confirmed having received more than 130 songs, but the number is likely to increase as all the mail dated December 2nd or earlier will be accepted.

It may not seem like an excessive amount, but having in mind the poor result achieved by the Greek participant in Tallin 2002, Mixalis Rakintzis, whose song S.A.G.A.P.O. only reached 17th position, Greek fans of the contest expected the number to decrease this year.

According to Eurovision-Greece.com, the ten songs selected to take part in the national final, whose date has yet to be confirmed by ERT, will be announced by the Greek broadcaster during the month of December.

Greece will start as country number 17 in Riga, in between Ukraine and Norway.
