BTRC, the national Belarusian broadcaster has informed esctoday.com that Belarus will most likely participate at the forthcoming Eurovision Song Contest. An official confirmation is yet to be made by the Belarusian broadcaster regarding their participation next year.

The method and mechanism BTRC will use in order to select their Eurovision entry if they participate is yet to be determined. More details and information regarding Belarus and the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest will be disclosed in due course.

So far Sweden, Denmark, Iceland, Norway, Finland, Ireland, Albania, Belgium and San Marino have confirmed their participation at the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest.

Belarus debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2004 and is yet to win the event. The country’s best result in the contest was in 2007 with Koldun‘s Work your magic, when Belarus placed 6th.

Alyona Lanskaya represented Belarus at the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest with Solayoh achieving a 16th place in the grand final.
