The director of RTVSLO, the Slovenian national broadcaster chose to put an end to speculations about the country’s participation in the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest through his Tweeter.

Marko Filli, General Director of RTVSLO, just stated that Slovenia will indeed tale part in the next edition of the Eurovision Song Contest through his Tweeter thus raising the number of confirmed countries to 39.  Shortly afterwards the news was confirmed on the official RTVSLO website. The method and mechanism that will be used to select the 2013 Slovenian entry and representative is yet to be revealed.

Slovenia debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1993 and is yet to win the Eurovision Song Contest. The country’s best results at the contest have been in 1995 with Darja Svajger (7th) and in 2002 with Nusa Derenda (7th).
