NTU, the Ukrainian national broadcaster has confirmed today that Lviv is the third city to officially apply to host the forthcoming 2017 Eurovision Song Contest.

Preparations in Ukraine for Eurovision 2017 are in full swing as the country gears up to welcome to Eurovision bandwagon next year.

Lviv thus joins Kyiv and Dnipro in the list of Ukrainian cities that have officially applied to host the 2017 ESC.

Lviv is one of the front runners and hot favorites to belt the honour to host the competition next year along with Kyiv. Lyiv’s historic centre has been been listed as one of UNESCO’s World Heritage sites.

The 2017 Eurovision host city bidding race kicked off on 24 June and will conclude on 1 August, it will consist of 4 stages. Cities wishing to officially bid to host the 2017 ESC edition can officially apply until 8 July.

Bidding cities have to comply with the rules and regulations of the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest and the requirements to host the event.

The preliminary dates for the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest have been set on 9, 11 and 13 May.
