Charlotte Perrelli released her comeback single Jag är tillbaks (I´m back) in the beginning of November. But so far has it not placed itself on any important music charts in Sweden. The former Eurovision Song Contest winner returns to Melodifestivalen in 2008 as one of the favourites, but the poor performance of her latest single does not support the bookies so far.
It was in 1999 whenCharlotte won both Melodifestivalen and Eurovision Song Contest withTake me to your heaven. After that huge success their have beenfew further hits. Charlotte's success has come from musical performances and working as a television show host.
To launch herpop musiccomeback, she released the single Jag är tillbaks. Butsofar has it not become any sale's or radio hit. The tune that is written by Peder ”Pedda P” Ernerot and Gustave Gurra from the group Just D. The lyrics are about the open conflict that was taking place in the tabloids papers between Charlotte and her former record company manager Bert Karlsson. Charlotte wanted to sing it already in Melodifestivalen 2003, then she was host together with Lena Philipsson and Mark Levengood. But SVT intercepted the song, so Charlotte and Lena did two other songs instead in the semi-final in Jönköping.
About the lyrics the she saysto Exprressen "I have gone on, that is so long building tendon now, but the tune is brilliantly typed and I like it very much" she says to Expressen. Bert Karlsson, as now sealed peace with Charlotte Perrelli, nothing has towards to be inscribed in the controversial tune:"If our old troubles can sell that song, so that’s one on me". Karlssonhas workedwith starslike Carola, Kicki Danielsson, Lena Philipsson, Friends and Charlotte Perrelli through his former record company Mariann Records. He is famous in the swedish media for his controversial statements.
