On 14 February, the Icelandic national selection, Söngvakeppnin 2015, come to an end as Iceland chose their participant for the Eurovision Song Contest 2015

María Ólafsdóttir won the prize with the song Unbroken written by Ásgeir Orri Ásgeirsson, Pálmi Ragnar Ásgeirsson and Sæþór Kristjánsson (known as StopWaitGo). They also wrote Friðrik’s song and this relationship will continue further as he is to join them on stage in May.

On RUV’s Channel 2 radio station programme Síðdegisútvarpið, Friðrik confirmed that he has agreed to sing as a backing vocal for Iceland in Austria. So his Eurovision dream is to continue. He has already said that if he is in a competition, his aim is to be a winner. So this year he came in second place and also part of being in first place too!

I attended my first Eurovision Song Contest in 1995, and from 1996 presented daily live reports for radio stations from the event. Since then I have been providing material from everywhere the contest has been held. I also enjoy compiling most of the video materials for three UK ESC events each year. In 2010 I first provided material for esctoday.com.
