The Latvian band ElektroFolk has five musicians, each in charge of a specific function when it comes to instruments and vocals.
They describe themselves as professional musicians full of energy and original, ambient sounding ideas. As they also indicate, they develop the deepest roots and values of the Latvian ethnic culture, which makes the group unique and authentic.
The five members of ElektroFolk are Kristīne Kārkle-Puriņa (vocal and violin), Ilze Grunte (guitars) Edgars Kārklis(vocal, accordeon, pipes and bagpipes), Artis Orubs (drums and percussions) and Ainārs Majors (bass and guitars).
The band will try to represent their country at the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest with the song Dieva dēli.
