SRF, the Swiss German speaking national broadcaster has announced today that Conchita Wurst will be the guest of honour and interval act at the 2015 Swiss Eurovision national final on 31 January in Kreuzligen.

The 2015 Swiss national final ESC 2015 – Entscheidungsshow will be aired live on SRF 1 at 20:10 CET on Saturday 31 January. The Swiss Eurovision national final will be held at the Bodensee Arena in Kreuzlingen, Switzerland. A total of 6 acts will battle for the golden ticket to Vienna. Each cmpeting act will sing a total of 2 songs in the grand final ( 1 cover song+ his/her respective potential entry). The 2015 Swiss Eurovision entry will be selected via a 50/50 jury- televoting deliberation.

The Host

The show will be hosted by Sven Epiney, famous Swiss television host who will be familiar to Eurovision fanas as he has hosted the Swiss Eurovision finals in recent years.

The Guest of Honour

Conchita Wurst the 2014 Austrian Eurovision winner Conchita Wurst has been invited to the Swiss national final, where she will perform her 2014 winning Eurovision entry Rise like a Phoenix.

About Swizerland in Eurovision

Sebalter won the 2014 Swiss Eurovision national final last February and  represented Switzerland at the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest with his entry Hunters of stars. Switzerland achieving a 13th place in the grand final in Copenhagen.

Switzerland is one of the founder members of the Eurovision Song Contest, having hosted the very first edition in Lugano in 1956 and winning the very first grand prix with Lys Assia‘s Refrain on home ground. The Helvetic nation has won the event 2 times in 1956 with Lys Assia and in 1988 with Celine Dion’s Ne partez pas sans moi.
