Pastora Soler presented her latest album Conóceme in Jerez de la Frontera last weekend. Her eleventh record is the celebration of her 20 years singing, publishes Diario de Navarra.

The Spanish entrant in the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest visited the city of Jerez de la Frontera to present her latest album, Conóceme, again in the Teatro Villamarta. In this theater she presented too her previous CD, Una mujer como yo in 2012.

As explained in a press note by the local council of the city of Jerez, Conóceme is the eleventh work by Pastora Soler, one that she releases after 20 years of a career in the music industry. Conóceme is a celebration of this anniversary, a return to pop-music, completed with some ballads, too.

The album was recorded between Madrid and Stockholm. Most of the tracks were composed by Sánchez-Ohlsson, with contributions by other musicians: the story of a love that passed is written by José Abraham in the song Fuimos; the homage to mothers Madre was composed by José Carlos Gómez; Pastora herself has added her own participation as a songwriter with a tune for her husband, Si vuelvo a empezar.

20 years is a long time. As described by Diario de Navarra, Pastora Soler has walked a lengthy way and she has evolved during her career. She started singing the typically Andalusian genre copla. Actually her first album in 1994 was Nuestras coplas. Then she switched to a more pop-like style with El mundo que soñé. Her third work, Fuente de luna, contains some of her most popular tunes: La brisa and Dámelo ya.

It was in 2001 when her career took a turn to the top with Corazón congelado, perhaps her most successful track, which was the official song of the cycling tournament Vuelta Ciclista a España that year.

During her latest years Pastora Soler was characterized by a fusion of styles such as pop, copla and flamenco. In her 20th anniversary she has swayed away from fusion into a more purely pop-music type.

Bad news from Pastora

Pastora Soler has suffered a relapse in her health problems which have led to the cancelation of all of her remaining concerts for the year, as we learn from La Referencia. Her concert scheduled for 24 October in Cartagena is the first of the list of events that will not take place.

The esctoday team wishes Pastora Soler a swift and full recovery.
