The announcement will be made on the Friday night show Xarabank at 20:40 CET on 3 October 2014. 20 semi-finalists will be announced.

The national final for Malta’s 28th Eurovision entry will be held on Saturday 22 November with the semi-final taking place the night before.

The early national final date is one of many changes that were made PBS. The main new rule however is that the song can be changed before the submission deadline in March 2015.

PBS have not yet revealed how many submissions they received.

The venue for the national final will be the Malta Shipbuilding which will host the 12th Junior Eurovision Song Contest a week before on 15 November.

Both televoting and jury will decided Malta’s entry for the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest.

In 2014, Malta were represented by the band Firelight who performed the song Coming home. They came 23rd in the final.
