The Summer Hit Song Contest 2014 is a local Maltese television show on a hunt for the next summer hit songs.
Throughout the months of summer, viewers will have a chance to meet all the performers of the 18 competing songs. Many past Malta Eurovision stars will take part in the contest including Domenique Azzopardi, Danica Muscat, Anna Azzopardi, Rita Pace, Audrey Marie Bartolo, Janice Mangion and Julie Pomorski.
The second show of the series taking place on Monday 21st July will see the 2014 Junior Eurovision Maltese representative Federica Falzon as the special guest who will also perform a cover of the Slovenian Eurovision 2007 entry Flower of the South. The second guest of the night will be 2010 Malta Eurosong second runner-up Tiziana Calleja.
The show is produced and hosted by long time Maltese Eurovision fans Deo Grech and Ignatius Farrugia. The show is aired on Mondays and Sundays at 08:30pm on F Living channel. The first edition of the contest was won by 1996 Maltese representative Miriam Christine. The final will take place on 23rd September where the 5th Summer Hit Song Contest winner will be crowned.
